A high-school bookworm transforms into a swan in Walt Disney Pictures’ “ICE PRINCESS.” Brainy Casey Carlyle (’Michelle Trachtenberg’ (qv)) has never quite fit in. Caught between her fantasy of becoming a championship figure skater and her strong-willed mother (’Joan Cusack’ (qv)), who has her on the fast track to Harvard, she can only hope to be like Nikki, Tiffany and Gen (’Hayden Panettiere’ (qv))—three elite skating prodigies who are ruthlessly competing on the US National circuit (and have attitudes to match). But when Casey gets the chance to train with Gen and her coach, a disgraced former skating champion who also happens to be Gen’s mother (’Kim Cattrall’ (qv)), she must dash her own mother’s hopes in order to pursue her dream. Now, with only the support of Gen’s teenage brother, a hunky Zamboni driver (’Trevor Blumas’ (qv)), Casey takes on the challenge of her life when she finds herself competing against the best to make it into the championship circuit and become a real “ice princess.”

Roger, a beleaguered New York City meter maid, is plagued by anxiety and low self-esteem. Surrounded by a band of misfit classmates - Walsh, who’s dying to move out of mother’s basement; Diego, a punching bag for his hen-pecker of a wife; and Eli, a shy guy just looking for female companionship - Roger’s confidence grows and he makes his way to the head of the class, even finding the courage to ask out his longtime crush, Amanda. But Roger quickly discovers that star students have a way of catapulting Dr. P’s competitive side into high gear. Soon enough, the teacher sets out to infiltrate and destroy Roger’s personal and professional life. Nothing is off limits for Dr. P, not even the object of Roger’s affection. In order to show Amanda Dr. P’s true colors, Roger must rally his new friends and find a way to beat the master at his own game.

Marine Gunnery Sergeant Tom Highway has been in the Corps since the Korean War and would like to see some action and a victory before he retires. He requests to be transfered to the unit that he was once busted out of. Upon arriving the commanding officer knows of Highway’s reputation, especially of his lack of respect for his superiors, warns him that he is going to keep an eye on him. Highway’s assigned to train a recon unit which consists mostly of deadbeats. But Highway’s determined to turn them into true marines and they are not exactly pleased with him, at first. And he is also trying to reconnect with his ex-wife.

When a new sergeant, James, takes over a highly trained bomb disposal team amidst violent conflict, he surprises his two subordinates, Sanborn and Eldridge, by recklessly plunging them into a deadly game of urban combat. When the teenager Mary Elizabeth Cep, a.k.a. Lola, moves with her mother and two younger twin sisters from New York to the suburb of Dellwood, New Jersey, she has the feeling that her cultural and entertaining world ended. While in school, the displaced Lola becomes close friend of the unpopular Ella, who is also a great fan of the her favorite rock band Sidarthur. However, the most popular girl in the school, Carla Santini, disputes the lead role in an adaptation of Pygmalion with Lola and also the leadership of their mates. When the last concert of Sidarthur is sold-out, Lola plans with Ella to travel to New York and buy the tickets from scalpers. However, the girls get into trouble while helping the lead singer and Lola’s idol Stu Wolf, changing their lives forever.

Annie Oakley is an incredible shot who was raised ‘Doin’ What Comes Naturally’. Frank Butler, the star sharpshooter in ‘Colonel Buffalo Bill’’s show, however, knows full well that’s not how ‘The Girl That I Marry’ must be. Anyway, not at least until he finds that ‘My Defences are Down’. Though Annie defiantly says ‘Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better’, she realizes that ‘You Can’t Get a Man With a Gun’. The victor at the end is love; as you know, ‘It’s Wonderful’. After all, ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’.

When Dr. Doug Lee fails to save the life of navy pilot Swede Larson, who blacked out and crashed after entering a steep dive, the flyer’s friends take an immediate dislike to him and disparage his efforts to learn more about the problem by becoming a flyer himself. Lee’s new superior officer, Dr. Lance Rogers, also exhibits resentment toward the presumptuous newcomer. They ultimately become friends and form a mutual bond of personal and professional respect when their research develops a high altitude flying suit which they hope will prevent the kind of blackouts that killed Swede. Unfortunately the process of experimental testing of the new device proves to be a dangerous undertaking.
