In Middletown, at 11:14 PM, two cars accidents happen at the same time, affecting the lives of five different groups of people. A drunken driver hits a man in a lonely road near a bridge; three young men hits a woman with a van, one of the passenger has a severed penis while another man on the road shoots them; a young man robs a convenience store, with the support of the clerk; a man finds a body in a cemetery and gets rid off it; and a young woman pretending to be pregnant tries to raise money for an abortion. All of these characters and their fates are very connected.

When Jane Holman is driving with her two sons, Tom and Gunny, she accidentally runs into a drifter, named Jack McCloud, who breaks his leg. Feeling sorry for him, Jane invites Jack and his dog Betty Jane to stay at her home until his leg has healed. After having some difficulties to adapt to this new lifestyle, Jack soon finds himself loved by the family and they all want him to stay. When he starts teaching baseball to Tom, who misses his father who’s missing in the Korean War, the two of them develop a strong bond. Meanwhile Gunny believes that there’s more to Jack and Betty Jane than meets the eye, and he’s determined to find out!

A skilled young hockey prospect hoping to attract the attention of professional scouts is pressured to show that he can fight if challenged during his stay in a Canadian minor hockey town. His on-ice activities are complicated by his relationship with the coach’s daughter.

When the successful artistic director Alex McGrath (Matthew Walker) dies, his New York dance company invites three veteran dancers, Travis MacPhearson (Patrick Swayze), Chrissa Lindh (Lisa Niemi) and Max Delano (George De La Pena), to exhibit a never performed dance piece called “Without a Word” as a last homage in a benefit show. Along the troubled trio reunion, secrets are disclosed, deep wounds are healed, culminating with their last dance together.

Ex-con Jack Crews, who works as car mechanic in New Jersey since he’s out and enjoys being a good husband and father to his daughter, refused to do it as his license was suspended, but when he finds the bank is about to foreclose on his house, he has no other choice then accept $10,000 for one truck ride all the way from Atlanta. He doesn’t want to know about the load, but guesses right as it comes with a black dog, spare driver and two men ‘protection’ in a car that his long ride is about to turn into a mobile battle fought with vehicles and bullets for the illegal arms shipment which the FBI is after too while Red, who send the load in the first place, turns out to head a gang which stops at nothing to get them delivered. And then there’s the legend of the ominous black dog…

A group of high school students become guerrilla fighters when their town is invaded by Central American and eventually Soviet soldiers at the beginning of WWIII in this apocalyptic fantasy. The pressures of their desperate existence begin to wear away at the “Wolverine’s” unity as the Soviet bloc forces hunt them down.

JUMP is a psychological drama revealing for the first time the extraordinary circumstances behind the unjust murder trial of the young Jew, Philippe Halsman, who would later become the most sought after celebrity portrait photographer of his generation. Set in 1928 Austria during the rise of fascism, the story documents the corrupt relationship between Philippe and his father, the events leading to his father’s death, and focuses a sharp but delicate eye upon the anti-Semitic atmosphere that quickly led to Philippe’s conviction. On a September afternoon in the heart of the picturesque Alps, two Latvian tourists, 22-yr old Philippe Halsman, a soft-spoken, compassionate engineering student and his overbearing father Morduch undertook a hiking tour. Though he loved his father deeply, the seething dynamic between them never allowed this affection to surface. By the end of the day, Morduch Halsman, a stubborn, aggressive, well-to-do dentist, determined to “make a man” of his son by the brute force of physical labor, was dead. Philippe maintained that his father had fallen and was still alive when he ran for help, but when he returned, his father’s body lay face down, his head split open with an ax, his blood and belongings strewn about the area. With vague circumstantial evidence pointing to Philippe, he was immediately arrested and charged with patricide. No one wanted to defend an outsider, let alone a Jew, and the local community hoped for a speedy trial that would wash their hands of the monstrous act. Deliberately uninformed of his rights, Philippe was left in the dark of his cold cell until his mother and sister, alerted to the crisis, managed to procure a lawyer from the Jewish quarter in Vienna. With no time to prepare his case, Philippe and his passionate lawyer were left scrambling as the trial began. While witnesses steered their testimony towards a guilty verdict, and while the courtroom saw such gruesome evidence as Morduch’s head, severed from his body by local autopsists, Philippe found himself so alienated he could not even bring himself to help his own cause. Enraged that the trial was conducted with such hostility towards him, he sat brooding with anger, given to frequent outbursts of frustration. In a mere four days, the highly-charged, emotional trial came to a close. Though no evidence or any clear motive had been established, the deliberation was over as soon as it began. Philippe Halsman was convicted of patricide and sentenced to ten years in prison thus becoming the first Jewish victim of the incipient anti-Semitism of National Socialism. Not until well-known international figures such as Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud and Thomas Mann rallied to his cause, demanding a fair trial, was Philippe freed. Under the condition that he never return to Austria, he made his way out of the country harboring the darkest of wounds. Not only was he never allowed to properly grieve his father’s death, but he would forever be haunted by visions of his falling father, of the severed head, and the black hole of his own memory, filled with doubt, guilt and grief. Though he never spoke publicly about that fateful summer, its influence was sharply felt in the photography that would soon make Philippe famous. Commissioned by the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Brando, Picasso, Nixon and the Kennedys, Halsman turned formal fashion shots into serious investigations of character. Engaging his subjects in disarming chatter, he would often ask them to jump, which he believed would free them of their postures and defenses. “When you ask a person to jump, his attention is mostly directed toward the act of jumping and the mask falls so that the real person appears.” From surrealist flourishes such as headless bodies or bodiless heads, to “jumpology”, which would become his trademark, Philippe pursued his quest to uncover the hidden truths behind the masks of his subjects. But only in private would he turn this investigation upon himself. It seems that Philippe was able to witness his father’s true character in that horrible moment so many years ago, and perhaps, in doing so, was able to love him in absolute. But as to the question of murder, obscured by the trauma of the moment and the whirlwind of prejudice in its aftermath, Philippe himself was rendered impotent to answer.

Hazari Pal lives in a small village in Bihar, India, with his dad, mom, wife, Kamla, daughter, Amrita, and two sons, Shambhu and Manooj. As the Pal are unable to repay the loan they had taken years ago from a moneylender, their land and property are auctioned, and they are rendered homeless. Hazari and his family re-locate to Calcutta with hopes of starting life anew, save some money and go back to Bihar, as well as get Amrita married. Things do not go as planned, as they lose their entire savings to a con-man, Gangooly, who took their money as rent by pretending to be a landlord. Then Hazari gets an opportunity to take up driving a rickshaw manually through a local godfather, Ghatak. He gets to meet a American, Dr. Max Lowe, and together they strike up a friendship along with a local social worker, Joan Bethel. Misunderstandings crop up between Joan and the Godfather, resulting in the shutting down of their shanty medical clinic. When Hazari sides with Joan, his rickshaw is taken away. Things get worse when the Godfather passes away, leaving his estate to his way-ward son, Ashok Ghatak, who has plans to do away with the slums, especially the lepers who have now started frequenting the locality, Max, Joan and above all Hazari himself, and he is determined to take the “joy” of living in Calcutta.

Gloria Goodfellow has a normal life in the countryside along with her family. She’s the mother of two children, one precocious teenager girl and a timid boy, who’s been bullied by a bunch of kids from his school. Occassionally, their peace is disrupted by a neighbor’s annoying dog or a meddler neighbor. Gloria’s husband, Reverend Walter Goodfellow, is a clumsy but well respected priest, who’s preparing to give a speech in a religious convention at Cornwall. One morning a charming, efficient and quite kind lady, Grace Hawkins, arrives to work as a housekeeper at the Goodfellows’ house. The family’s life will change forever, because Grace will care for its integrity in her own special way. First, Grace will help Walter to relax and find his funny side during masses. Then, Grace finds out that Gloria is having an affair with her golf instructor, a sort of pervert American man, interested in Gloria’s daughter as well. Last but not least, Grace will manage herself to get rid of the bullies who are giving a hard time to Petey. Despite this ideal reality, Gloria will discover a secret that Grace has been hiding… for more than 40 years.

It’s turning out to be a pretty rotten Christmas for the Saunders family. Having just moved to a new city from Los Angeles, they have no friends, no money and, with the exception of the bright-eyed Mary, no Christmas spirit. To make matters worse, their mother is stuck in L.A., stranded by airline overbookings. So, the Christmas shopping duties fall on Dad and the gloomy kids. Things start looking a bit more like Christmas when 12-year old Brian and 6-year old Mary find a satchel of money at the local mall and they launch a Yuletide shopping spree…that is, until the crooks who counterfeited the money chase them through the mall packed with holiday shoppers.
